What is it?
NMT is a bodywork modality that assists in recovery from acute and chronic
pain, utilizing specific massage therapy techniques, stretching, and self care. Although
considered by some to be a Deep Tissue Technique, NMT is not so much deep as it
is specific. This specific and scientific approach to muscular pain relief will help to bring
about balance between the musculoskeletal system and the nervous system. NMT
enhances the function of joints, muscles and biomechanics (movement) and it releases
endorphins, the body's own natural pain killers. NMT examines six physiological factors
that may create or intensify pain patterns: Ischemia, Trigger Points, Nerve Entrapment
Compression, Postural Distortions, Nutrition and Emotional Wellbeing.
